Area Police
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.
Officers then discovered multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say early analysis show the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any injuries in relation with the event," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.
A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
